17 Years of Design Experience

My career began In college when attempting to fulfill a humanities requirement I stumbled upon a graphic design course. I was informed by one of my college professors, that a career in graphic and web design would never make me rich, but I would always be happy. I am pleased to say that he was right.

Starting in Print

My first position after college was working as a graphic designer at a local newspaper, designing advertisements. I was blessed to learn from some really talented people at Liberty Group Publishing, and was quickly exposed to the publishing environment.

Becoming an Expert

After gaining as much knowledge as possible, I moved onto a political and promotional design team, creating many of the campaign promotional material we see for candidates nationwide, including the presidential campaign. I worked hand in hand with the in-house printer at Ross Industries to create innovative silkscreen and lithography products that still exist today.

Becoming an Leader

My next move was taking a position as an Assistant Art Director at a national sports magazine in Manhattan, New York. At Professional Sports Publications, I worked exclusively with professional sports franchises to create both seasonal programs and magazine guides that would be sold in the venues they played in. Additionally I worked with organizations like the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and NCAA to create programs for all types of special events including the college basketball national championship tournament, World Series, Triple Crown, and Superbowl events.

Becoming an Mentor

After gaining tremendous experience and contacts, I moved onto a position at Infobase Publishing, a large educational book publishing firm in Manhattan, New York. Serving as an Assistant Art Director provided me with valuable web experience and a thorough understanding of the production and printing process.

From Print to Web

Understanding industry changes, I embraced the opportunity to design e-books, and other digital properties. I was then recruited by Sears Holdings Company to help lead an innovative new project known as the "Local Ad". I also had the opportunity to work on a variety of properties, including sears.com, kmart.com, shopyourwayrewards, craftsman, and kenmore. My responsibilities ranged from a user experience designers, visual designer, and project manager for both web and mobile.

Continued Growth

Wanted to explore a new chapter and truly understand the mind of different users, I took a position at CVS Health to help redesign the web and mobile experience for CVS/caremark. I received the privilege of contributing and working on exciting products for CVS Health, CVS/pharmacy, CVS/specialty, and SilverScript. The CVS/pharmacy Tablet app, CVS/caremark microsites initiative, internal idea sharing site, and smart prescription bottle are a few examples of projects I led.
